This trip begins at San Marcos City Park near the pristine head waters of the San Marcos River. Paddle 6.5 miles down stream to the San Marcos River Retreat. This location requires a few portages around old dams as shown in the video. Rentals are go-at-your own pace. Average paddling time is 4 hours. This is a start to finish paddle. There is not an option to get out early.
